I'm sharing Grandad's recipe for a zesty fall drink that he affectionately called a Pumpkin Spice Whiskey Sourpuss. He added the "sourpuss" part because of the way it makes your lips pucker up after the first sip. It's definitely got some tang to it! Get your cocktail shaker and pour in a couple of ounces of some full-flavored bourbon, such Four Roses Single Barrel or Henry McKenna Single Barrel, as the base of your concoction. Then, you add some lemon juice, about an ounce, but you can add more to suit your tastes. Next, add a splash of pumpkin spice syrup, then shake it all up to combine. After you've got it all mixed up, add in a small ice cube and half an ounce of egg white, then give it another shake for a couple of minutes. Once you've got it all combined, strain it into a glass with. Add a dash of cinnamon on top, and you're ready to enjoy Grandad's favorite fall drink.
For all I know, Grandad's recipe might not be an original. It doesn't matter to me though. I've always felt close to him while drinking it.
